Hi, I’m Kristlin Bright.

Founder | Clinical Supervisor | LIMHP | kristlin@jaimentalhealth.com

I tend to work well with those who attempt to hold it all together, but may notice at some point that what they’re doing is no longer working for them. I get a lot of joy working with complex and/or childhood trauma, navigating racial/cultural identity concerns, working through complicated relationship dynamics, and generally working through the things in life that are nuanced, complex, and can sometimes feel conflicting in and of themselves.

We may be a good fit if you want to explore your inner thoughts and emotions, be gently challenged to think of different perspectives, get a little more comfortable with feeling uncomfortable emotions, and use your strengths to make changes in your life and grow.

As a biracial daughter of a first-generation immigrant, I became a therapist because there weren’t professionals who looked like me or understood my life experiences. As such, it has been important to me to honor others who share in the sentiments of belongingness, understanding oneself, and finding ways to live that feel best for them. This is why authenticity is so important to me. Therefore, I try to show up as authentically as possible. That includes wearing jeans and a Husker shirt and sprinkling in some humor into our sessions. I hope that you, too, will feel safe to show up as authentically as you can.

When I take my therapist hat off, I am probably listening to 2000s music, delaying packing for my next trip, talking my husband’s ear off, playing with my son, or improvising a recipe because I definitely don’t have all the ingredients.
