Frequently asked questions.

  • This is dependent upon your needs and what you and your therapist think is best for your needs. However, it is usually most effective to begin with weekly appointments and decrease as you meet and maintain your goals.

  • It is best to find a therapist who has training and experience in your concerns as this guides treatment. Additionally, research shows that the best therapeutic outcomes occur with those who have a good relationship with their therapist. Your therapist could be the most renowned therapist in the world, but if you don’t feel heard or seen by your therapist, all that expertise doesn’t matter. So it is important that you feel like you and your therapist “vibe,” are a good fit, and make a good team!

  • That is totally okay and absolutely normal. We offer free 15 minute consultations to assess for whether you might fit with your therapist. The therapist will be able to parse out whether they can meet your needs and you can both discuss whether you believe you would make a good fit.

  • If you and your therapist deem you two are a good fit after the consultation, you will schedule the initial session. At this initial session, your therapist will ask you questions about what brings you to therapy, your symptoms, and questions about you and your life. Don’t worry, you can share what you feel comfortable with sharing. After this, you and your therapist will collaboratively create goals that will serve as a guide for your treatment together. Once goals are created, you will discuss what is relevant to help meet your goals!
