Hi, I’m Taylor Buchanan.

Staff Therapist | PLMHP | taylor@jaimentalhealth.com

I often work with people who are looking to understand themselves more deeply. They may be processing complex and/or childhood trauma, exploring questions related to identity, or trying to understand the roots of their anxiety, depression, or other emotional and relational challenges. I believe healing begins with curiosity, self-compassion, and feeling truly seen. My goal is to provide a safe, affirming space where we can explore your experiences together, make sense of what has brought you here, and help you move toward a life that feels more authentic, connected, and fulfilling.

We may work well together if you want to understand yourself better, explore the connection between your past and present experiences, and/or learn practical mindfulness and other coping skills to navigate life's stressors. I strive to help clients become more comfortable with who they are and difficult feelings, consider new perspectives, and build on their existing strengths to foster growth and meaningful change.

My journey to becoming a therapist is rooted in my own experiences navigating mental health challenges and identity concerns. With the support of compassionate mental health providers, I was able to better understand myself and move toward healing and growth. These experiences fostered a deep sense of empathy and compassion that I bring to my work today. My goal is to provide a safe, affirming space where clients can be their authentic selves, feel seen and heard, and explore the challenges and experiences that are important to them.

When I'm not in session, you can likely find me listening to music or podcasts, watching sports or reality TV, going for walks, doing yoga, and spending time with friends and family.
