About Us

Honoring Your Story, Supporting Your Growth

At Jai Mental Health, we believe therapy should feel supportive, collaborative, and be a space for you to show up exactly as you are. Jai Mental Health is an inclusive space welcoming folks from all walks of life. We are committed to providing a safe, affirming space for people of color, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and people of all cultural backgrounds. We honor the ways identity, culture, and lived experience shape mental health, and we work intentionally to ensure our care is respectful, inclusive, and free from discrimination.

What’s in a Name?

Jai "ใจ" is a Thai word that means “heart” or one’s inner emotional world that also encompasses one’s thoughts, feelings, intentions, and well-being. It is used in the Thai language to describe how emotions, thoughts, and character are expressed.

It is often difficult to describe or express how we are thinking and feeling. The many aspects of our lives (religion, family, trauma, our identities, past and present relationships, etc.) influence how we move through and experience the world and how the world experiences us. Jai is meant to capture this nuance and complexity. And yet, with our expertise in the mental health field and your expertise in your lived experiences, this practice is here to serve as a way to help you make sense of and understand the nuance and complexity in a deeper way.

We hope you will feel safe to show up as authentically as you can, and that you will trust us with your story.
