Hi, I’m Katie Woodward.

Staff Therapist | PLMHP | katie@jaimentalhealth.com | She/Hers

I work well with those who are willing to explore how they learned to understand and interact with the world around them. I believe our context gives us clues about how we learned to navigate difficult things and get our needs met. Because of this, I lead with curiosity. You know your experiences and context best, and I want to understand your story with you. I also believe all mental health symptoms are adaptive in nature, and are developed to help us survive. Therapy with me is a space to explore when and why those ways of coping became necessary, and what still feels useful for you today.

I enjoy working with clients of all backgrounds and have a particular interest in neurodivergence, trauma, and religious trauma. We may be a good fit if you’re interested in examining the narratives, beliefs, and values that have shaped you and exploring what feels authentic, meaningful, and worth carrying forward.

I became a therapist because of people like you. I am constantly in awe of what humans are capable of surviving and how we find ways to keep going even when life throws hard things at us. It is an honor and a privilege to witness that resilience firsthand and to be trusted with the stories that make each person who they are. I also know that trusting someone with those parts of yourself can be difficult. I believe trust is built through authenticity, and that is what I hope to bring into the room. My goal is to show up as myself and create an affirming space where you feel respected and able to bring your whole self.

Outside of therapy, I enjoy bird watching, reading, playing video games, and watching movies. I’m also a big reality TV fan and will happily watch anything from Bravo to Survivor. I’m also a Minnesota Timberwolves fan, so apparently I enjoy being disappointed by them every season.

Whatever brings you here, I’m grateful you’re taking this step, and if our paths cross I look forward to meeting you!
